On 20.05.2026, an informative meeting was held at the Centre for Development of the Vardar Planning Region in Veles within the Project for Social Insurance Administration (SIAP), supported by the World Bank.
The meeting gathered representatives from local institutions, local self-government units, and associations of persons with disabilities from the region. The aim of the event was to present legal amendments and ongoing reform processes in the social protection system, with a particular focus on the disability assessment system and the establishment of a unified social insurance registry.
Key components of the project were presented, including the Central Coordination Body for disability assessment and solutions for improving administrative processes through digitalization and integrated data management.
Participants actively engaged in the discussion, raising issues related to the practical implementation of legal changes, assessment methodology, and data quality at the local level. The need for stronger institutional coordination and simplified procedures in order to reduce the administrative burden on citizens was emphasized.
The meeting served as an important platform for exchanging information and experiences between institutions and stakeholders, aiming to improve systemic solutions and services for persons with disabilities.
