On 2–3 September 2025, a delegation from the Republic of North Macedonia carried out a study visit to Ljubljana, Republic of Slovenia, focused on professional rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities.
The visit was organized within the framework of the SIAP Project of the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, with support from the World Bank and in cooperation with the competent institutions of the Republic of Slovenia.
During the two-day programme, the delegation became familiar with the Slovenian legal and institutional framework, funding mechanisms through a dedicated disability fund, and the practical implementation of professional rehabilitation services. Study visits were conducted to the University Rehabilitation Institute URI Soča and the Papilot Institute, where concrete models and successful practices for labour market inclusion of persons with various types of disabilities were presented.
The exchanged experiences and good practices represent a valuable foundation for the further development of the national model for professional rehabilitation and supported employment in North Macedonia.
