On January 20, as part of the regional conference in Romania, the Minister of Social Policy, Demography, and Youth, Fatmir Limani, held a constructive meeting with World Bank directors to discuss the progress of the Social Insurance Administration Project, implemented by the Ministry with the support of the World Bank.
The project, valued at €13.8 million, is one of the key reforms in the social insurance system. In just a year and a half, we have tripled fund utilization and significantly accelerated implementation.
Upcoming reforms include a unified beneficiary registration system (SURS), a new disability assessment system, improved employment conditions for persons with disabilities, and modernization of institutional processes.
The World Bank also discussed the possibility of extending the project timeline to ensure high-quality implementation and sustainable systems that operate smoothly.
Our commitment remains clear: a modern, fair, and efficient social insurance system serving every citizen.
